A good few hours of hand carving was required make a 5 mm recess for the conversion style fulcrum plate. By trying to simplify the build with a solid body design, the consequence was to make life difficult for myself from the start in the tremolo cavity. I had to drill access holes at the back and carve out a recess for the Neutrik mono jack socket from the outside. I added brass threaded inserts to mount the pickups, the control plate and the pickguard. I understand that Brian only used inserted nuts to mount the roller bridge (6BA Hank rivet bushes set in epoxy) and for the semicircular tremolo cover plate.
