Brian May Red Special Enthusiast Meet-ups
Since 2017, I have attended seven Brian May Red Special themed enthusiast meet-ups: five in the U.K. at Theale Village Hall and the Holiday Inn Reading West in Berkshire and two in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. These are primarily social events for friends from different countries with a mutual interest to get together. However, people usually bring interesting guitars, amplifiers, effects and other equipment to show and demonstrate to stimulate discussion. A number of regular attendees are either professional or experienced amateur musicians and, where possible, people will jam together.
Although they are all very busy in their professional roles, members of Brian May’s support team try to support the enthusiast community by attending the U.K. meet-ups. Most years, Andrew Guyton, Nigel Knight and Pete Malandrone have attended and brought instruments, equipment and shared their knowledge, expertise and stories about working with Brian.
